Getting To Know BeU Swindon

You know that feeling when you're not quite yourself? When things that used to feel easy now feel hard, or when worrying thoughts are taking up way more headspace than usual? We get it. And we're here for you.

General

Maybe you're not enjoying things you used to love. Maybe your sleep is all over the place, or school feels much harder to manage than before. Maybe big changes like moving house or changing schools are feeling really tough to handle. These are all completely normal responses to stress, and they're all valid reasons to get mental health support.

Since October 2023, BeU Swindon has provided free and accessible mental health support for children and young people aged 5-18 (up to 25 with SEND). You don't need a diagnosis to reach out for support - it's always okay to ask for help when you need it. We understand that taking the first step can feel overwhelming. That's why we offer multiple ways to get support, designed to fit what feels comfortable for you.

Whether you need someone to talk to privately, want to connect with peers who understand, or prefer anonymous online support, we're here to help you find what works. Whoever you are, whatever it is, we can help. You can make a referral online or call our friendly team. We're here when you're ready.

Support For Parents

For parents and carers, we know that watching your child struggle can feel overwhelming. We offer free guidance and workshops to support both you and your child. Trust your instincts - you know your child best. If you've noticed changes in their mood, sleep, appetite, or enjoyment of things they usually love, seeking help early can make a real difference.

We offer comprehensive support for your whole family, including advice and guidance specifically for parents and carers. Find out more about our parent workshops and family support.

Support For Professionals

We work closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community organisations across Swindon to ensure every professional has the tools and knowledge they need to support children and young people's mental health. Our consultation and training services help you recognise early signs of mental health difficulties, understand appropriate referral pathways, and develop confidence in having those important conversations with young people and families.

Whether you're a teacher, social worker, youth worker, or healthcare professional, we provide evidence-based training aligned with the Thrive Framework and national best practice guidelines. Find out more about our professional development and consultation services.

Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Already Taken

We're here for young people looking for support, parents seeking guidance, and professionals working with children and families. Because mental health matters, support should be accessible, and everyone deserves to feel heard and understood. We're not just experts; we're your dedicated support team.

Mental well-being is a spectrum, and even if you haven't been diagnosed with a specific condition, if you find yourself feeling unlike your usual self or facing emotional challenges, it's completely valid to seek assistance.

FAQ

Real Stories from Our Community

Hear from young people, families, and professionals who have experienced the difference our support makes. These are genuine experiences from people we've helped on their mental health journey.

I felt completely lost and overwhelmed when I first reached out for help. The practitioner really listened to me without any judgment and helped me understand that what I was going through wasn't my fault. For the first time in months, I didn't feel alone. They gave me practical ways to cope with my anxiety that actually work in real life.
